21 July 2011

Three years ago I crawled into bed after a long mission. I thought I would get some long wanted sleep and then enjoy the weekend with my friends.

Instead I woke up with my crew dragging me out of bed. They didn't know what was going on but we were ordered to gather in the base theater on Andersen AFB Guam. We gathered, looking around trying to figure out what had happened. Then the rumor hit, "A jet crashed."

It wasn't a rumor. I scrambled to start counting heads. As I counted those present I started to realise there were a few close friends who were missing.

I don't remember the last time I saw them. I never saw them again.

This comic is to honor them. I will not capitalize on losing friends, so this comic is not for sale. If you donate to the site while this comic is up, I will ensure all your donation goes to an Air Force charity. Rest well RAIDR 21. You will never be forgotten.

Currently at 14.5% of my fundraising goal.
